weight lifting exercise log 20191207

Today is Saturday. I did this yesterday, because of my left foot annoyance, but I should have lifted. So, today.

The body adapts to stresses experienced. Once it has adapted, great, but I'll need new stresses. The usual ones are volumn (weight and repetition increase), or very different exercise patterns (weight moving or HIIT or water rowing or biking or ...). Tradeoffs to be sure, but it works.

This exercise set has gone thru a few changes - fixed sets/reps, sets to failure, heavy exercise to 10 x 10. But, the intent has remained to do the work at a rate - lbsPerMin - in a certain range (600 to 900). Still winning.

Usual sets.

At 105 pounds on the heavy ones, and this day, they started to feel heavy. Did 5 x 20's on both, and the rest periods were very welcome. Reluctance to do the next set showed up as well. I was impressed.

Anyhow, no need to increase these weights yet. Let them lighten up.

And, just as a note: Both my bothersome left shoulder and knee feel great. So do the ones on the right. Hopefully, taking care of my diet and exercise is really a good thing !!

It is !! But the definition of those words is of some contentious debate.

Lots of rice bowls do not wish to be broken ...
